Commenting on the agreement, Marcos Arizti, Business Development Manager at Rekom AS said, “We are very pleased to announce that one of the first European RDF contracts for Rekom has been further extended to 2020. We highly appreciate the confidence given by Returo and we look forward to the years to come”. Returo Entsorgungs GmbH is the joint distribution company of two entirely municipal shareholders, acting to ensure the full utilization of the energy from waste (EfW) facilities in Bonn and Leverkusen. The facility in Bonn was built in 1992, consumes around 260.000 tons every year and delivers steam to the neighboring cogeneration plant for further conversion into district heating and electricity. Mrs. Andrea Schlüter, Waste Flow Management at Returo commented on the extension of the agreement, “We see in Rekom AS a solid and reliable partner with remarkably experience within the industry. Based on this we are glad to extend the cooperation for the next 3 years”.
